Youth and Stakeholders Salute Hon. Abiola Makinde’s Transformational Leadership

The Ondo Ekimogun Sports Stadium has received a major facelift following the intervention and developmental commitment of Hon. Abiola Makinde, Member, House of Representatives. The renovation, which began after Hon. Makinde’s pledge in late July, has now transformed the once-aged facility into a modern and attractive sports arena.
During an inspection of the ongoing works, it was evident that the stadium has undergone significant upgrades. A newly installed 500-capacity spectators’ stand now enhances the stadium’s beauty and functionality. In addition, a modern digital-style inscription boldly displaying “Ondo Ekimogun Sports Stadium” at the main entrance further strengthens the identity of the facility.
The construction of a well-laid interlocking walkway connecting the entrance to the playing field adds notable aesthetic and structural value, effectively separating the spectators’ area from the field. Artistic enhancements at the stadium gate also contribute to the facility’s new, appealing outlook. Furthermore, standard solar-powered lighting systems have been installed at strategic points within and around the stadium to improve security and night-time operations.
While major milestones have been achieved, additional works are ongoing, including field planting, routine weeding, and final touches to fully complete the project. The facility management team confirmed during their inspection that the renovation is 80% completed, marking substantial progress toward full readiness.
The youth group End Miscreant in Ondo Kingdom expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Abiola Makinde, describing him as a leader who “sits with kings in the morning, eats with the common man in the afternoon, and dines with the powerful in the evening.” They commended him as a “Talk and Do” leader whose unwavering dedication has driven the project from inception to its current advanced stage.
Comrade Ayoola Aseyege (Alayo), initiator and vocal leader of the group, also appreciated Hon. Makinde’s timely intervention and offered prayers for his continued success.
Representing the lawmaker at the inspection, Hon. Niyi Adeyosoye, Liaison Aide I and Coordinator of HAM Volunteers, described Hon. Makinde as a humble public servant whose priority remains the welfare of his constituents above political considerations. He assured the gathering that more developmental impacts are underway, noting that “the best of this man of the people is yet to be seen.”
The renovation of the Ondo Ekimogun Sports Stadium reflects Hon. Abiola Makinde’s broader vision of enhancing sports, youth engagement, and community infrastructure across Ondo Kingdom and the entire Ondo Central Senatorial District.
