Ondo West APC Leaders in Constituency 1 Endorse Hon. Abiola Makinde for 2027 Senatorial Race

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo West Constituency 1—comprising Wards 1, 2, 7, 9, 10, and 11—have declared their unwavering support for Hon. Abiola Makinde’s senatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At a well-attended meeting held on May 7, 2025, in one of the top-rated hotels in Ondo West, over forty prominent APC leaders gathered to formally endorse Hon. Makinde, describing him as the most credible and competent candidate to represent the Ondo Central Senatorial District in 2027.

Hon. Raphael Adetimehin, the constituency coordinator for the Abiola Makinde for Senate campaign, expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout and the unity of purpose demonstrated by party stakeholders across the wards.

The leaders at the meeting pledged to leave no stone unturned in mobilizing eligible voters and garnering widespread support for Hon. Makinde’s senatorial bid. They cited his consistent dedication to political development and community service in the Ondo East and West Federal Constituency since 2019 as unmatched in the region’s history.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Niyi Adeyosoye reflected on the political journey of Hon. Makinde, noting the challenges he overcame to become a two-term Member of the House of Representatives. He described Makinde as a man of vision and action, destined for greater leadership. “His track record, commitment, and contributions to human and community development are clear indicators that he will excel in the red chamber,” Adeyosoye stated.

Supporting this position, local councillors present at the meeting echoed the sentiment that Hon. Abiola Makinde is the most qualified son of Ondo to represent the district in the Nigerian Senate come 2027.

Though absent at the event, Hon. Abiola Makinde sent his goodwill message, expressing heartfelt appreciation to the organizers and all attendees. He assured them that his spirit is with them and that he remains committed to serving the people.

The meeting marked a significant step forward in the grassroots mobilization for Hon. Makinde’s senatorial ambition, with party leaders vowing to intensify efforts as the election year approaches.
