The All Progressives Congress (APC) Congress of Ward 11 in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State has officially suspended its Chairman, Mr Akinola Adewale Austin, over allegations of misconduct and other offenses outlined in a letter dated May 14, 2025.
According to a resolution reached during the ward’s weekly meeting, the suspension followed a series of concerns raised against Mr Austin, including disrespect towards constituted party leadership and alleged misappropriation of funds meant for the ward executive.
The Congress stated that the chairman had been under close observation for some time, and his recent actions compelled the leadership to take disciplinary measures in order to uphold the integrity of the party.
“The Congress had no choice but to suspend the chairman to allow for a thorough investigation and, if necessary, apply appropriate sanctions,” the statement read.
Party members have been urged to treat the suspension with the seriousness it deserves, and the Congress called on the local government party leadership and other relevant officials to support the process.
Hon. Oshodi was the chairman of the panel that delivered the verdict on the suspended chairman.
Meanwhile, Hon. Femi Ademiluwa and Apostle Sunday Ilori, aka Arabija, who had chaired the ward in the past, were asked to coordinate the affairs of the ward pending the determination of the Congress on the matter.
Efforts to get a response from Mr Akinola Adewale Austin were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
