August ended on a note of gratitude and appreciation as prominent political associates and representatives across the Ondo Central Senatorial District paid a courtesy visit to the distinguished lawmaker and servant-leader, Hon. Abiola Makinde, Member of the House of Representatives (MHR) representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency and leading aspirant for the Ondo Central Senatorial District seat.
The delegation described Hon. Makinde as “the man of the moment every politician in the state desires to associate with,” commending his transformational leadership, grassroots development initiatives, and unwavering commitment to inclusive governance.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Fadumo Emmanuel Oluwadare, Secretary to Akure North Local Government, praised Makinde’s track record in Ondo East and West, noting that extending his mandate to Akure North will further consolidate development across the local government.
Similarly, the Leader of the House, Idanre Local Government, Rt. Hon. Osadele Folarin, stressed that Hon. Makinde is “due for promotion” to the Senate, so Idanre and other councils in the Central District can also benefit from the dividends of democracy already being enjoyed by Ondo East/West.
In his contribution, Comrade Adewolu Mayowa applauded Makinde’s outstanding representation in the House of Representatives and expressed optimism that his people-focused leadership will transform more local governments once he clinches the senatorial seat.
Other notable voices, including Mr. Ayeni Banji (Party Leader, Akure South), Rt. Hon. Adeoye Adeniyi, and the Leader of the House, Ondo East who also doubles as the Leader of all Local Governments’ Leaders of the House in Ondo State jointly called on representatives to take the “good news” back to their constituencies and mobilize wider support for Hon. Makinde’s senatorial aspiration.
In his response, Hon. Abiola Makinde expressed heartfelt appreciation for the encomiums showered on him. He assured the leaders that he would not disappoint their trust, pledging to give his very best to all local governments within the senatorial district. He further urged them to propagate the message of his vision for greater representation.
As a mark of appreciation and solidarity, the leaders presented Hon. Makinde with a symbolic portrait, signifying their readiness to work with him toward victory.
Delivering the closing remarks, Hon. Niyi Adeyosoye, Legislative Aide 1 to the MHR, thanked the delegation for their love, commitment, and confidence in his boss. He assured them that Hon. Makinde’s life-touching interventions would soon be extended to their local governments, as recently demonstrated during the MHR’s birthday celebration and more before he emerges as the party’s flag bearer and, by God’s grace, the eventual winner of the 2027 Ondo Central Senatorial District election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
